Press Release: TwinTube plug-in

SPL launches the Analog Code® TwinTube plug-in at Winter NAMM 2009

Niederkruechten, Germany, January 14, 2009 – SPL launched their new Analog Code® plug-in line at the last AES with the Transient Designer® and the Ranger set of EQs. Now the German company adds the third plug-in with the release of the TwinTube at the NAMM 2009. All Analog Code plug-ins are modeled after analog hardware processors, and in this case the TwinTube processor of SPL's RackPack modular system has been the paragon.

Employing two separate, independent tube stages, the TwinTube combines the two main tube artifacts: harmonics and saturation effects.
TwinTube's harmonic processing can be applied to four different fundamental tone frequency bands to improve presence and clarity without raising signal levels significantly. The saturation control can be compared to the sound effects of tape saturation to add warmth and achieve more density with virtually any kind of sound source.

"Our programmers did a great job in creating a very good sounding tube simulation", says SPL's CEO Hermann Gier. "The special qualities of the analog TwinTube are in enhancing in fact nearly any signal with the classic analog sound attributes. Now we can fully transfer those amazing results to the digital domain. And where could the warm, transparent and smooth sound of analog tube and coil filtering make more sense than in DAW productions?"

The TwinTube is available as native and TDM version. The native version supports RTAS, VST and AU formats, the TDM license also includes all native formats. Further information, trials and downloads at www.theanalogcode.com.

About SPL

REDISCOVER ANALOG
Since 1984, German manufacturer SPL offers analog and digital audio signal processors for the professional sound and music production. Milestones of the company’s R&D history are the patented VITALIZER® sound optimization processor, the invention of the mother of all transient design tools, the TRANSIENT DESIGNER®, the launch of the world's first discrete 5.1 Surround Miking System ATMOS® 5.1 already in 1998 and the development of the SPL SUPRA op-amps with an unprecedented operating voltage of 120 Volt.
The SUPRA op-amps are the integral components of SPL's 120V Mastering Series product line which is setting new benchmarks in audio signal processing to outperform any existing analog or digital audio format.
In 2008 SPL formed a new team of software developers and accomplished the breakthrough in developing digital products without compromising sound quality. Thanks to a new approach in component modeling, the digital products finally met SPL's demands. With its line of Analog Code® plug-ins, SPL makes its unique audio signal processors also available for all important digital platforms and formats and invites audio professionals to rediscover analog in any environment.
